He began his career with Howard Schmalz and Associates, where he learned the business from the ground up starting with apartment showings and advancing to full agent and property manager.
Through years of hands-on property management, Bert developed an in depth understanding of New Orleans homes, including maintenance, repairs, and the unique challenges of the local housing market. This practical knowledge allows him to better advise clients, anticipate issues, and protect their investments.
In 2015, following the retirement of longtime mentor Howard Schmalz, Bert founded Bert Brown and Associates Real Estate LLC. The company’s iconic banana leaf sign serves as a tribute to the legacy of professionalism and integrity that continues to define the business today.
